This is also the last Uncharted with Amy Hennig behind the wheel (there is also Golden Abyss, but shush) and without her there wouldn’t be an Uncharted franchise. However, that is a minor complaint in a game that otherwise sounds great.

This meant that I didn’t feel the full impact of the score and occasionally missed bits of incidental dialogue. I often found that I needed to turn down the volume during action scenes as the gunfire was so much louder than everything else. I will say one negative, that is more sound effect than soundtrack, but the gun noises are a lot louder in this Uncharted 3. As this Uncharted with a soundtrack by Greg Edmunson, I need to take moment to recognise and praise the iconic Nate’s theme and remind everyone that these are fantastic scores. It always fits the locations and has some excellent swells that help to bring the game’s intensity to the fore. Just like the previous games, the soundtrack is excellent. Other than that, everything else looks moves and feels better. They fix her model by Lost Legacy but it’s like they tried to make her ‘sexier’ or something and it results in her looking weirdly different from Among Thieves.

This with the exclusion of Chloe, she looks weird in this game. Every character animation, facial expression and little bit of scenery has more definition and feels alive.

Uncharted 2 was far from an ugly game but you can see that by the third instalment Naughty Dog understand how to get the most out of the PlayStation 3. One of the first things that struck me upon starting Drake’s Deception was how much prettier everything was.

That being said, I was looking forward to more Uncharted, to more running and jumping, to more intense gunfights and the last PlayStation 3 game, and to what we thought was the end of the series until its reprisal in A Thief’s End. This was partly due to playing it exclusively on PSNow with a less than great internet connection. Of all of the games in the series, Uncharted 3 is the one I remember the least. So it was with some trepidation that I booted up Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception the following day. It has such a breakneck pace that I need to sit and breath after the credits rolled. Just like Jesus did to Dismas.Īnyway, hope I could make you all understand, and this is just something I realized after playing the game. After finishing Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, I was on a high. And when Sam says he should leave him behind (thus accepting the consequence of his actions), Nate insists on taking him out of there, and since Sam was going to die, saving him would be like giving him a new life, kinda like getting him to paradise. He's te guy who's willing to leave it all behind, and forgive, even saying that Rafe could have all the treasure. Also obsessed with the treasure, but, when he sees that he might not make it out alive, he accepts it, because he knows he brought that to himself, and focus on making Nate leave. He puts it very clearly that he thinks he's entitled to all of the treasure, and also, that he doesn't regret anything he has made to get to the treasure. We have in the same "room" Nate, Sam and Rafe, a total of 3 people, like Saint Dismas, Jesus and Gestas. So this may have already been said, but here's something I noticed about the final fight.
